Do the drugs given in anti retroviral therapy(ART) to HIV patients have any anti bacterial or anti parasitic effect as well to any extent?

Is it possible that HIV patients undergoing ART have reduced bacterial or parasitic co-infection?

I don’t know exactly. But i think, as drug is a chemical compound, it must have an adverse effect on bacteria and parasite.

As HIV itself is not a disease but the death is due to the co- infection of other means. That means the death occurs due to the other infection. In this case a simpler disease can cause death of the patient. In my openion ART have to reduce the Bacterial and Parasitic co-infection.
